Eye Exams

We provide comprehensive eyecare services to all ages of patients. Call or schedule online to make an appointment for an exam! If we cannot schedule your exam for the same day we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Our exam will include testing for:

• excessive or unequal amounts of nearsightedness, farsightedness, or

• astigmatism

• eye movement ability

• eye alignment

• eye health problems

Contact Lenses

Advances in technology have greatly improved contact lens comfort and wearability for patients with astigmatism, dry eyes, and presbyopia. Ask us about options for daily, weekly and monthly contact lenses. Our Contact Lens Evaluation includes a thorough evaluation of the health of the front surface of the eye, as well as opportunities to try different lens types. Our professionally-trained technician will spend as much time as you need teaching you how to insert and remove your contact lenses if you are a first time wearer.

Vision Therapy

80% of learning depends on vision, therefor many children with learning disabilities have undiagnosed vision problems. We give children the opportunity to combat their vision and learning struggles through an intensive one-on-one therapy program. Vision Therapy is like physical therapy but for the eyes. It is non-surgical and highly effective treatment for problems such as lazy-eyes or double vision.

InfantSee

InfantSee is a public health program designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an integral part of infant wellness care to improve a child’s quality of life. We feel so strongly about the importance of healthy vision that we have elected to participate in the program and provide a no-cost comprehensive infant eye and vision assessment within the first year of life. Vision development and eye health problems are easier to correct if treatment begins early.

Optomap

Kid's Eye Site is proud to offer some of the most advanced eyecare technology available. Optomap produces an image of your retina, which provides your doctors with a wide view to examine the health of your retina. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to receive this helpful and valuable test as part of your routine eye exam; it is fast, easy, and comfortable.

Diseases such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, retinal tears or detachments, and other health problems, such as diabetes and high blood pressure may be detected with a thorough exam of the retina aided by the Optomap.

Red Eye/Urgent Care

Our office provides services for all types of red eye-- eye infections, eye injuries, and eye allergies. If you have an eye infection or eye injury, our staff will work with you to schedule an appointment as quickly as possible. In most cases, we are able to bill your medical insurance for red eye office visits.

State of the art microscopes allow us to examine the front surface of the eye for infection or injury; these specialized tools allow us to provide red eye diagnosis and treatment in a more efficient and accurate manner than an emergency room or primary care physician's office that does not have access to this type of instrument.

FAQs

Why do I need glasses if I wear contacts?

Contact lenses are a luxury for people who have a hard time seeing clearly but do not always want to wear glasses. Even if a person chooses to exclusively wear contacts they must have a back-up pair of glasses in case they get eye infections which prevent them from wearing their contacts. If contact lenses are replaced on time, cleaned, not slept in, and fit by a doctor, contacts are healthy for us. If they are NOT taken care of contacts can cause permanent blindness or vision loss!

How do you check babies eyes?

There are many different instruments, as well as lights and lenses to measure the power and health of they eye. As long as the eyes are able to be opened, examinations can be effectively performed.

How long does my prescription last?

Each contact lens prescription is good for ONE YEAR. This is regulated by federal law. Unfortunately, we can NOT fill a prescription if it is expired! The reason the government has regulated this is because eye health can be affected by contact lens wear.

How do I order contacts?

For your convenience our office prices contacts at or below online retailers. You may order by calling our office or order in person. Contact lens prescriptions are valid for one year and you may purchase lenses wherever you choose during that time.

I don't wear glasses, do I need an eye exam?

Many eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts take years to develop with no visual symptoms. It is important for a doctor to check the health of your eyes at least once a year. Systemic vascular disease such as diabetes and hypertension are commonly first diagnosed with retinal exams.
